Foothills Wanderers Orienteering Club

Foothills Wanderers Orienteering Club (FWOC) provides orienteering opportunities for its membership. We organize orienteering races and training programs throughout the year. FWOC's junior program - SOGO - introduces youth to the support through a series of sessions that start with physical literacy and progress with developing the orienteering skills of map reading, navigation, and route choice. Navigation 101 and 201 introduces adults to the sport in 5 week sessions.

For those of you who don't know, orienteering is a sport that combines running and navigation — imagine a cross-country running race where everyone picks their own route. It is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It can be enjoyed as a walk in the woods or as a competitive race combining strategic thinking, navigation, strength, and high intensity cross-country running
