Manicure Volunteer - Westview Community

Silvera for Seniors is a dynamic and growing non-profit organization that has been providing affordable housing to more than 1,500 lower-income seniors across 26 communities in Calgary for over 50 years.

Goals & Objectives: 

- The volunteer will provide free manicures for residents that join the program
- The volunteer will provide a relaxing and engaging environment for the residents
- The volunteer will interact with the residents
- The volunteer will be present within the community
- The volunteer will socialize and develop relationships with the residents

Duties & Responsibilities
- Obtain the necessary supplies from the Active Aging Department
- Provide a welcoming and engaging environment for the residents
- Set up supplies at designated table
- Wash hands prior to engaging within the activity
When Providing Manicure:
- Remove any old polish from the Residents nails
- Provide cuticle oil to the Resident’s cuticles
- Remove excess oil with a cotton pad
- File the rough edges of the nail and give the emery board to the Resident to take with them
- Paint nails with polish provided by the Resident
Please Note: No nail shaping to be done by the volunteer.

Time Commitment: 
Once every 2 weeks, either weekdays or weekends at Westview Community.
