Home Start is a program in which volunteers offer regular support, friendship, and practical help to families with children between the ages of 0-5, primarily in their own homes, helping prevent family crisis and breakdown (Home Start Statement of Principles and Practices, 2002).

This volunteer position involves sharing the simple gift of your friendship and compassion with a mother with young children under 5 years of age. Studies show that one caring person in a family’s life can make a big impact on the well-being of the whole family, especially on the healthy development of children!

• Report monthly on their visits with families, and have regular check-ins with the Program Coordinators.
• Attend monthly volunteer support meetings
