Electronic Recycling Association Accomplishes their Largest Donation to Date!

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a non-profit organization committed to reducing unnecessary electronic waste by recycling and repurposing used electronics since 2004. With a focus on recovery, refurbishment and reuse, ERA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated IT equipment while securely managing the retiring IT assets of organizations and individuals across Canada. Their founder had received a donated computer as a youth from his local church and started learning the art of computer science. He later on noticed during a trip to the landfill that there were a lot of computers that still had significant useful life in them so he started collecting those dumped computers and fixing them up. It started as a hobby, but he quickly discovered that people really wanted and needed these computers that he was fixing. And so the story begins…

Throughout the year, the ERA continually focuses on giving back to the community. So when it came to GivingTuesday this year, it was a perfect opportunity for them to be an advocate for giving within the communities in which they operate. On November 27th, the ERA took Canada by surprise by combining 7 cities, 32 organizations and 2 partners which resulted in a nationwide donation of 547 devices! If you would like to help an organization receive the gift of technology, please email info@era.ca to start the process and book a pickup with our reps now.
