CSCO Achieves 100% in their Accreditation Review!
The Calgary Society of Community Opportunities supports people who have developmental disabilities to be part of the community… and they received 100% in their accreditation review at the end of 2018! The auditors commented:
"The environment at the CSCO office and on-site activities is one of high energy. Individuals and staff are actively engaged in a wide range of activities from singular to small and large groups. On the first day of the survey the team was treated to a musical concert presented by the individuals. This concert was filled with high-energy singing and instruments and had the whole room rocking. Staff displayed a high degree of energy and engagement with the individuals and, quite simply, it was a great experience to be part of and to observe. The survey team, while on site, has not often observed this type of staff involvement. CSCO is commended for the spirit and culture that exists within this organization; well done."
CSCO continues to grow, and are now serving 600+ adults in their Social Skills Program, and 50 in their full-time Core Program. Games, drumming, karaoke, crocheting… there are so many ways for their clients to engage! Of course, Propellus is particularly delighted that they offer a variety of weekly volunteer placements too.
Well done CSCO; you should be mighty-proud of the meaningful, top-quality, work you do.
