JazzYYC Transitions to Paid Staff

When JazzYYC applied for the Transform Your Story funding in 2017, they were running on the passion of their volunteers alone and it was becoming unsustainable. Recognizing that they needed some paid staff, and to develop to a new five-year plan, they sought out some support for the transition. With support from a skilled consultant, a pivotal moment in their story went from being a source of stress to an exciting opportunity for change.

Some unexpected, beneficial, outcomes came out of the mix too: the process fully engaged the board, which helped them to find and better understand their roles too! Their team is now owning the process, and confidently charging forward.
